Q. What are the advantages of using a hunting lease?

A. A hunting lease allows both veteran hunters and those new to hunting the ability to experience the sport in many different areas without the direct outlay of cash associated with buying the land. Hunting leases also preserve the hunters precious time, since the leasing company assumes the responsibility for dealing with land owners directly.

Q. How do I know that the land description is accurate and suitable for hunting?

A. The company verifies that the description matches the actual land that you will lease. In many cases, the aerial photo of the property is multiple years old and doesn't show ground cover and vegetation in its current state. We strive to add depth of information to the land description to include evidence of game and game trails to ensure that the information is correct. We also have company management or designated representatives of the company physically verify the land description if there is doubt to its current suitability for hunting.

Q. How do I seek permission to visit the property prior to signing a lease agreement?

A. Prospective hunters may requests to visit a property prior to leasing it. Once the owner has agreed to the property visit, you will receive a permission slip with an approved time frame for the visit and driving directions, if needed.

Q. May I build a structure, such as a deer stand, on the land that I lease?

A. In most cases, land owners allow temporary structures, such as a deer stand. Some owners may support the building of a structure on their land if you enter into a multi-year lease and have pre-approval of the structure (to include location, design, and material). All structures, temporary and permanent, must comply with State regulations and owner requirements.

Q.Can I renew a hunting lease that I like?

A. Yes, as long as the landowner approves the renewal and the renewal occurs prior to the end of the existing lease (to include receipt of payment).

Q. Can I sub-lease my leased hunting land?

A. No. We do, however, allow hunting clubs to lease land to multiple members of the club. The land owner must approve multi-member club hunting. Each person that desires to hunt on the property must be listed on, and sign, the lease agreement.

Q.May I plant a food plot on the land that I lease?

A.Landowners may approve food plots on a case-by-case basis. Some land may already have food plots on it. Hunting leases with tillable farm acreage may also provide you the same benefit due to residual crops left unharvested.

Q. What exactly do you mean by maximum hunters?

A.The company monitors hunters contracted on each lease to ensure sustainable wildlife management of each hunting area. Each person that sets foot on each leased property, whether hunting or not, must sign the lease agreement. Any person that is on a leased property, but not on the lease agreement is trespassing and therefore not covered by liability insurance.

Q. When does the lease start?

A. Your hunting lease begins upon receipt of 100% of the leasing fee by the company. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the lease runs for one year from that date. For large properties and land with multi-game hunting potential, we will accept a deposit (non-refundable) with the remainder of the payment made on a date specified within the contract.

Q.Is there a guarantee of seeing or taking game with my hunting lease?

A.No. While we strive to provide properties with a high likelihood of seeing and taking game, the lease does not guarantee it. Leasing fees are non-refundable.

Q. Are all lease agreements for one year?

A. No, we offer land owners the ability to lease their land in a way that supports their own hunting preference. If a land lease is for a period of less than one year, the land description will specify the period of the lease.

Q. Do I have first right to renew?

A. Yes, as long as the landowner approves the renewal and you get the payment to us two weeks prior to lease expiration as stated in the lease.

Q. Who do I make the payment to?

A.Make payments to Riedel Farms LLC, 508 Day Star Ct. Cranberry Township, PA 16066. Payment is due in full within 7 days of committing to a lease (receipt of a signed lease). Payment can be made with a money order, certified check or cashier's check. We hope to add credit card payments soon in order to expedite the leasing process.
